This stage can be divided into two parts. The first, up to Alto do Poio, is an uphill, and the second, especially from Fonfría, is a steep descent.

(1)O Cebreiro-(2)Liñares: 0-2.9 km

We leave O Cebreiro on a path that goes behind the Junta hostel, on the left side of the road (photo 1). It climbs about 100 meters and then descends along a wide track to Liñares (photo 2), where the path joins the road.

(2)Liñares-(3)-Hospital da Condesa: 2.9-5.5 (2.6 km)

We follow the road for a few meters and then take a path that leads us to the Alto de San Roque (1271 m) (photo 3). At the top, there is a bronze sculpture by the sculptor Acuña depicting a pilgrim walking against the wind. We then take a path that runs along the right side of the road and takes us to Hospital de la Condesa (photo 4).

(3)Hospital da Condesa-(4)Alto do Poio: 5.5-8.2 (2.7 km)

We leave Hospital de la Condesa and take a path that runs parallel to the road until we reach a junction signposted Sabugos, where we turn. We reach the base of Padornelo, where a steep 200-meter climb takes us to Alto do Poio (photo 5).

(4)Alto do Poio-(5)Fonfría: 8.2-11.4 (3.2 km)

We leave Alto do Poio along a path that runs parallel to the right of the road and arrive at Fonfría (photo 6). It is a flat area with a slight descent.

(5)Fonfría-(6)Viduedo: 11.4-14 (2.6 km)

We take a path that descends, more or less parallel to the road but slightly farther away, and reach Viduedo (photo 7).

(6)Viduedo-(7)Triacastela: 14-20.4 (6.4 km)

We leave Viduedo and begin the steepest descents of the stage. With spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, we reach the small villages of Filloval, Pasantes, and Ramil. We continue the descent along beautiful paths (photo 8), cross the road, and continue along its left side. We cross the parish of As Pasantes and continue the descent to Triacastela.
