29.Montamarta-Granja

The hostel of Montamarta is located just before the entrance to the town on the right hand side of the N-630. Cross the town and at the exit we meet the Ricobayo reservoir. In theory the camino goes down to the reservoir and up by the church of la Virgen del Castillo. But the reservoir nearly always has water so it is advisable to take the N-630. Cross the bridge we meet at the edge of the town and after take a left turn to get to the path near to the church of la Virgen del Castillo.

We continue straight until kilometer 4.2 (photo 1) where we pass under the train tracks to turn right at kilometer 4.6 (photo 2) and cross a bridge over the N-630 and the A-66 (photo 3).

We continue more or less parallel to the A-66 road (photo 4) until kilometer 9.1 where we cross the A-66 again and head onto a dirt road (photo 5) towards Fontanillas de Castro (photo 6).

We leave Fontanillas on a path that runs more or less parallel to the N-630, although at some distance from the road (photo 7 and 8).

We enter Riego to exit again following the well-marked path until kilometer 8.4 where we cross the A-66 road through a tunnel. We continue parallel to the A-66 (photo 9) until we separate from the road to head towards Granja de Moreruela.
