3.Vilanova de Arousa-Pontecesures BY BOAT – Spiritual

The Traslatio is the maritime and river stage of the Spiritual Variant. It departs from the Vilanova de Arousa ferry terminal, crosses the estuary and travels up the Ulla River to Pontecesures. From there, pilgrims continue on foot to Padrón, approximately 2 km away.

Duration: between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes.

Route: during the crossing, passengers can see the mussel rafts, the islands of Cortegada, Malveiras and Briñas, the Torres de Oeste in Catoira and the stone crosses that form the maritime and river Stations of the Cross along the Arousa estuary and the Ulla River.
