Description
We leave Casar de Caceres through the main street, where the hostel is located, which changes its name from Calle Larga Alta to Calle Larga Baja. The street stops having asphalt and becomes a wide dirt path (photo 1 Km 1.8). Without getting lost, the path becomes narrower, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of cork oaks and cows.
We cross up to 4 gates (photo 2 Km 8.0) and continue along a dirt path (photo 3) until we reach km 13.7 (photo 4) where the path joins a wide track. After a slight descent, we find ourselves at km 14.3 (photo 5) where there is a trail that goes to the right.
If you are walking, continue along the trail, but if you are cycling, it is better to continue straight to take the N-630.
The trail runs parallel to the road in a succession of ups and downs until it finally joins the road at km 16.3. We continue on the N-630 road (photo 6 km 18.4) and cross first the Alconetar River and later the Tajo, the longest river on the peninsula.
At km 21.9, we leave the road again, which will take us along a path to km 31.1, where we can take a detour to go to Cañaveral (see green detour). If you are cycling, it is better to continue on the road.
