Description

We leave the hostel Fuente de Cantos on the left down Calle Huertas leading on San Benito street until we reach the la ermita de San Juan, where we take a dirt path bringing us to the village of Calzadilla de los Barros (photo 1 km 2.2 and photo 2 km 5.7).

We enter the village of Calzadilla de los Barros along Calle Fuente de Cantos which leads us to the Plaza España, where we can find the town hall.

We continue ahead with the plaza bordering us on the right, eventually we arrive at calle Zafra, where we finally abandon the town. The street eventually turns into a path, that runs more or less parallel to the N-630 (photo 3 km 7.7), until the path and the N-630 almost touch. At this point the path turns left. From this point until the next town, Puebla de Sancho Perez, we will find two streams that throughout most of the year carry lots of water (photo 5 km 11.2 and photo 6 km 13.2).

We continue(photo 4 km 10.2) on the road, we arrive without any time loss (photo 7 km 16.8) at La Puebla de Sancho Sancho Perez, further down the street this then becomes Belen Street, until we arrive at the town hall square (photo 8 km 20.8).

If we decide to continue (Zafra is located about 4 km ahead) we must cross the village following the arrows until we reach the road BA-160. We must cross this road to continue along the dirt track (photo 9 km 21.4).

Before entering Zafra, we must cross one of the most peculiar sections of the entire camino: the old Zafra train station, with its abandoned tracks and buildings (photos 10 and 11). Passing through the great avenue, this then takes us to the Parque de la Paz, which we must cross from the start to end until we reach la calle de Lopez Azme. We carry on down this road until on our left we see el Palacio de los Duques de Feria (photo 12 km 24.6), we then arrive directly at the hostel Zafra.
