Description
Between Aldeanueva and Baños there is a new alternative marked in green. It is a Via Verde (old train route converted into a path) that takes us to Puerto de Bejar, in the next stage.
The Via Verde is slightly longer but more beautiful and with much less slope. To decide whether to take the Via Verde or the official path, you can see the photos.
Upon reaching the point marked on the map as Km 14.0 of the Via Verde, you can take the road to go to Baños de Montemayor, or continue along the Via Verde to Puerto de Bejar where it rejoins the official path.
Official Path
We leave by the street of the hostel, the Olivas street, until we arrive at the N-630. We pass the Hostal Montesol (photo 1 km 1.0) and the gas station (photo 2 km 2.1) and continue all the way along the N-630 (photo 3 and 4).
Entering Baños de Montemayor, if we want to go to the lodge we turn to the right, where there is a cylindrical monument and a church that is accessed via steps (photo 5 km 9.3). You should also see a sign for the hostel. If you do not want to stay in Baños de Montemayor continue along the road.
