Description
Leaving the N-630, take the Alameda street on the left that will take us out of Cañaveral. We will continue and leave the San Cristobal Chapel on the right.From there, there is a sharp incline 2.5 km (photo 1 km 3,0 and photo 2 km 3,4) up a stone path that will eventually arrive, near the top, to a small road which takes us back to the main road . Here we turn right and come to a roundabout where there is a men’s club and from where we part with the inseparable N-630. Be careful here! because a few meters from this roundabout there is a fence to the left where we leave the road back onto the camino (photo 4 km 4,5).
The road runs more or less parallel to the N-630, although we leave here the inseparable national road which we will not again encounter for about another 50 km. The landscape is one of oak trees and scrub (photo 5 km 7,0). Here the road is not too well signposted but we should know that we must continue more or less parallel to the highway that runs along to our right and then we will not get lost.
Arriving at 7,4 km of the stage we will see some arrows and a few posters for Grimaldo Hostel that indicate a deviation to the right (photo 6 km 7,4). If we decide to spend the night in Grimaldo we take the right turn (photo 7a) and after 800 meters we should be at the door of the hostel. If we decide to spend the night in Galisteo continue straight.
The road continues until it crosses the Holguera Highway. We will open and close a couple of fences (the first of a few that we will meet on this stage) and continue straight (photo 7 km 8,2). We continue for three km with a fence on our left (photo 8 km 8,8) and continue the 2 following kilometres travelling between two fences. We then leave the the path by which we came, and after another fence, we take a right onto a path that takes us to the highway (photo 11 km 19,0 km and photo 12 km 19,4).
From here you have 2 options: going to Rilobos or follow the way.
